Julian Oliver is a highly accomplished sound designer with over five years of professional experience in post-production sound. After completing a Bachelor of Music and Sound Design at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Julian began his career at Breathless Films, where he quickly made his mark, working on multiple successful feature films. He is now part of the post-sound team at Envelope Audio in Perth, continuing to build on his reputation for creating immersive soundscapes that elevate storytelling.

Julian’s work has been recognized at major film festivals worldwide, including South by Southwest Austin (SXSW), Edinburgh Film Festival, Overlook Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), BIFAN (South Korea), and Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF). His films have garnered critical acclaim and received theatrical distribution in Australia, Spain, UK, USA, Germany, and other territories, with streaming releases on Netflix (Birdeater, Lonesome), Disney Plus (Shipwreck Hunters), Amazon Prime (Birdeater), SBS (The Longest Weekend, Lonesome, Tennessine), and Channel Nine (Love Road).

A lifelong musician with multiple original releases behind him, Julian brings a profound, sonically-driven vision to his sound design, blending rhythm, texture, and harmonics with technical expertise. His approach enables him to craft soundscapes that are intricately woven into the narrative’s emotional landscape, guiding the audience through the film’s emotional journey. His work spans a variety of genres, including Drama, Thriller, Documentary, Horror, Exotic, Comedy, and Animation.
